andrea maxand - edge of october

Andrea Maxand is a talented singer and songwriter. We are old friends who met in Bellingham in the late 90's, and then resettled in Seattle soon after. She has a brand new album - her 4th, if you count an EP - called edge of October. I've only listened once, and I'm already very excited about it. In keeping with her past work, it feels heavy and beautiful and methodical a lot of the time; a familiar feeling. But there are rhythmic and instrumental choices I'm looking forward to hearing again on repeat listens. MEANWHILE, Andrea is offering edge of October for free download, and you can review and download it by clicking here. Even if you are unfamiliar with her work, it is entirely worth checking out, particularly since you only have to spend your time..

*** UPDATE!!
Wow, wait a minute what the fuck? This is the best music I have heard from Andrea, ever. There is a striking confidence in her songwriting and performance. She sounds mature, assured, and fully in command of her art. (Not that she didn't before, necessarily, she has just come into her own so powerfully here.) As I began typing this paragraph, I was going to contend that "21" is the best song Andrea has ever written. But now I'm listening to the song that follows, "Letter of Intent", and that's the best song she has ever written. Her vocals on "Silence and Noise" are spectacular, and the drummer is on fire. Soooo... yeah you should check this album out and go see her play live, with a quickness.

I wonder if Ms. Maxand has posted liner notes somewhere..? Who is on drums?
