a personal tragedy

Aaron was an acquaintance at best to me, but what a great man. My only real memory of him is from many years ago, when he was semi-famous and I was just a guy who knew some people he knew, talking in a hipster bar in Seattle. We chatted about how awkward and difficult it was to make friends in a scene full of cool kids. I brought him back over to my table, where some of my old college friends were hanging out, and they... were not friendly to him. The irony crushed me.

Years later, I emailed him for the chords to a Harvey Danger song I wanted to learn to play on ukulele.
