Elizabeth Warren gets my liberal juices flowing! I love what she has to say, because it is the truth. I also think she's vastly improved at public speaking, which is important for a politician.
My concern is that she is another Obama: idealistic, morally correct, empathetic for the poor and working class, but also not experienced enough at governing. As President she would be treated like shit by Republicans in DC, used as a polarizing figure, ridiculed and delegitimized, but be unable to force her will upon them. She would be impotent and powerless, only able to make changes occur via Executive Orders or with a Congress that is not majority-Republican.
One important distinction between Warren and Obama, however, is the fact that I do not believe that she would slide to the right as he has in the face of the polarized, abusive treatment he has received.
Hillary Clinton does not get my liberal juices flowing, because she's not enough of a liberal. The best I can say about her is that she is not an evil Republican idiot. I do think she will support the status quo, a role she's adapted to over time, much as Obama has in his tenure in office. The American oligarchy will continue unchanged during her Presidency; she won't prosecute thieving bankers any more than Obama did, and she won't fight to reinstate the regulatory role of government either.
(Not that this is related, but Libertarians are stupid and feckless to believe that the needs of the many will be served by their cold, selfish ideology. There aren't any true Libertarians in office anyway, but they're still stupid.)
I wonder if, when the Republicans finally lose their gerrymandered majority thanks to shifting demographics, Warren could be President then?
