Sin Fang - Flowers (Morr Music)
Sin Fang is the solo project from Sindri Már Sigfusson, frontman for the Icelandic chamber pop band Seabear. The music on his 3rd album is markedly similar to Seabear, showcasing strings, horns, chants, and twinkly acoustic instrumentation. However, where Seabear is a hushed, folky affair, the solo endeavor is fast-paced, with anthemic, singalong melodies, pulsing tribal drums, subtle electronic blips, and even some rock feedback! The songwriting is consistently strong as well. Bonus: Google the name for a yarn-beard pic.
The album is out Feb. 19 in the U.S.
