neil young is alive

I've never really gone through a Neil Young phase, but slowly pushing my way through my mother's record collection has helped to remind me that Neil is, and was, one of the coolest motherfuckers on the planet.

I know that's a common observation to make, but I don't care.* In addition to his music, he:

• used to drive a hearse, a fact which assisted in the formation of Buffalo Springfield. 
• started out playing ukulele, every size on up to baritone, before switching to guitar.
• is not dead.

* I mean, Dylan used to be cooler, but not anymore. And Zappa died. Tom Waits has kinda run out of ideas. Don't even talk to me about former collaborators Rick James, Stephen Stills, Eddie Vedder - please. So. Yeah.
