Spoon played at El Cid in Silverlake a few days before I arrived in Silverlake. If you're wondering if it was a fun feeling to learn that I'd miss Spoon playing a tiny show by mere days, the answer is YES. Luckily, several people were filming and posted clips to the internet. This particular clip, which appears to begin just as Spoon returns for an encore of "I Saw The Light", features angry, drunken Spoon fangirls fighting about someone being a pushy "bitch". I have no doubt whatsoever that someone was a pushy drunk "bitch" up in the front at a Spoon show, because I now encounter pushy drunk "bitches", both male and female, every time I see Spoon lately. It makes me sad that even at a show like this one, announced only a few days ahead and sold first-come, first-serve, there were shitheads who went out of their way to show up, get wasted, and attempt to ruin things for everyone around them.
This is why fame for a band you like can be sucky.
DIG IT, "BITCHES":
The clip above actually cuts off before the song ends. Here's someone who got the WHOLE song, without the angry drunk "bitches". It's a really good song and you should hear all of it:
Also, the origins of "That's What She Said" explained at last (not by Spoon at El Cid):
