You know, I'm more confident than most people I talked to today and/or read online. Goddammit THIS IS IT PEOPLE. He's going to win. Why do I think this? Read old entries of mine to see why, really. But here's a big'un: not only would it be a huge upset, but many people who make their living predicting this shit would be humiliated on a level never before seen. Like, you're fucking fired/you can't fire me I'm killing myself style.
Case in point: Mark Halperin. This guy is the ultimate insidey political journalist as far as I'm concerned, and he's extra extra certain it's going to be an Obama win.
Here's his list of 5 Things to Watch on Election Day:
1. The turnout (long lines will mean...?)
2. Pay attention at 7:30pm ET/4:30pm PT (polls close in VA, IN, OH)
3. Signs of an Obama landslide (fuck it let's take Wyoming too)
4. Down-ballot bellwethers (Al Franken, anyone?)
5. Winning and losing, with a purpose (grace and unity)
That's what I'm talking about. It's going to go our way this year. It ain't 2004.
